Care-Full Coaching

Dr. Ed Cook

There’s an old saying that goes…

It’s tough to remember your objective was to drain the swamp when you’re up to your neck in Alligators!

I come alongside pastors and ministry leaders to help them kill their alligators and drain their swamp.

It’s time to ask yourself a couple of questions:

  • Why did you sign up for what you’re doing?
  • Are you getting what you signed up for?
  • Why not?

I’ve been in ministry for thirty-five years, twenty-eight of them as a pastor. I’ve often found myself frustrated, discouraged, or disillusioned. Do you know the feelings I’m talking about?

  • What’s causing your frustration, discouragement, or disillusionment?
  • What are you going to do about it?
  • What are you going to change — because if nothing changes, nothing changes!

I’ve found that it’s almost impossible for folks to get away from those problems on their own. I’m the guy who will walk with you through the process and help you along the way. Is it worth an email or phone call to see if I can help you?

Once you’ve got time to catch your breath it’s time to ask, “Where the heck do all these alligators come from?” Nine times out of ten they’ve snuck in through areas of responsibility you’ve been given for which you haven’t been trained — areas such as:

  • Leadership
    • understanding and communicating mission
    • developing, stewarding, and communicating vision
  • Developing and managing
    • people
      • staff
      • volunteers
    • systems, policies, procedures, and finances

I come alongside pastors and ministry leaders to help them learn, implement, and refine the missing skills they need to repair the fences to keep the alligators out.

If you’d like to see if …

  • I can help you out of the crisis that’s causing you distress
  • I can help you develop in ways that will prevent new or recurring crises
  • I can help you move forward in your leadership or discipleship
